Cathy Gursha

Founder + President

Meet Cathy.

As a seasoned executive + board strategist, I founded my company in 2007. I am a strategic advisor to company founders, CEOs, executive directors and board chairs on development, fundraising initiatives, events, partnerships, public relations and brand positioning. I work with leadership teams in nonprofits, corporations, startups and foundations.

My deep understanding of how development + events intersect along with my ability to build relationships with key stakeholders has allowed me to achieve extraordinary results. I’ve built development teams and infrastructures while defining what is needed to help raise awareness, get funding and bring organizations strategically to the next level. I intuitively assess and build a strong and lasting foundation for organizations which is both attainable and sustainable. I start with a clean canvas and find innovative ways to move things forward quickly and effectively, always mindful of financials and empowering those around me. My goal, first and foremost, is to create a culture and vision that can help build and grow any organization to its full potential.

I was inspired early on at The Museum of Modern Art where I worked closely with the Board of Trustees and the office of the Museum’s Director. It remains a defining time in my career and the simple and elegant style I learned there is deeply rooted and reflected in all of my work.

US Dollars Raised

JCRC of New York

The Executive Vice President and CEO of JCRC-NY hired me to help with a number of initiatives from strategy + advising to high level fundraising, brand positioning, board engagement, event concept creation and public relations + communications. The 40th anniversary milestone Gala was their most successful fundraiser on record.

In no small part as a result of your efforts the JCRC had its most financially successful Gala dinner in April,
raising almost $1.8mm. You have, in your quiet diligent way, achieved considerable success
in assisting the JCRC begin to achieve its long term goals.

Producing a musical is an incredibly challenging and risky venture. Cathy stepped in as our Strategic Advisor at just the right time to help us with public relations and publicity. She fit in seamlessly with the creative team and quickly assessed what needed to be done including connecting us with producers and industry professionals. As we move forward with WikiMusical, we feel much more confident knowing that Cathy is our Head of Business Development.

Few people could manage the oversight of hundreds of people arriving at once, handle a myriad of details, keep the program moving, lights and camera on, video running when it should, and make it all look easy.
Cathy’s level of dedication and professionalism is unsurpassed.
